Mug weights and volume, what’s the ideal ratio?

Mug 1 -191g 300ml very thin walls I made 2 and one broke instantly so never sold the other however have been using for years

Mug 2 - 327g 250ml coffee cup height for a coffee machine, prob could be thinner and lighter

Mug 3 - 377g 300ml good size and weight for a cup of tea

Mug 4 - 383g 300ml supermarket mug assume these guys have done the ergonomic tests and this is a good basis?

What’s your thoughts on the perfect mug weight capacity ratio?!

I’m actually learning to celebrate the bisque explosion 💥 when I loose a bottom of a pot it’s a learning journey and a reminder that the pot was too thick or too wet and I’m finding a beauty in reassembling the broken pieces in resin. This reminds me of the treacherous rocks that lay hidden beneath the cliffs at beachy head and often appear as a theme in my work. Learning to create a water tight resin mould is another learning curve all by itself!!

First throw of 2025 medium sized agateware moon jars with a lanscape / seascape vibe after listening to the salt path audio book. Stoneware as need to warm back into the porcelain work! Will be seeing more of this in various forms this spring!

The Parson Darby collection, 3 porcelain sgraffito vessels telling the story of Parson Darby a 17th Century Parson living in Eastbourne who was devastated by the loss of young life from the shipwrecks that got washed into the rocks of Beachy Head. One day he decided to carve a path into the chalk cliff face and dug out a cave and spent many stormy evenings there shining a lantern to warn all the ships of the treacherous rocks below. It was over 100 years after his death that the first Belle Tout Lighthouse was built.

There are also alternative theories debating his role in assisting smugglers which was rife at that time. Nobody knows for sure!

These were inspired by @annalie_seaman and Beachy Head Story who sadly had to close their doors to the public this winter. But these will be on show and available to buy @unoseaford from next week
